Important points for Excellent Communication Skills

Communication Skills is the ability to deliver one’s message confidently and also ensuring whether it is delivered successfully or not. If the message is delivered successfully, one may consider one’s communication excellent. Language proficiency is an added section to one’s communication skills. One shouldn’t consider one’s communication lacking because of one’s command on language. Sometimes they relate it with the proficiency in English language. So one should understand clearly that language proficiency and Communication Skills are different sections to cover. The language proficiency section is a vast segment and it needs continual efforts to be tuned with the current scenario whereas ability to make a person understand your message is one’s communication skills.                                 

                             When we talk about our level of communication skills, we must consider our communication skills with parents, teachers, friends and many more people in our life. We have been making a successful communication with them for such a long time. So a candidate who is going for the interview should not consider his communication lacking. In fact when he is asked about it, the candidate should answer confidently about its level. It is seen that candidates accept their weakness in communication themselves and they cut a sorry figure in front of the assessor. They must understand that if they accept that their communication is lacking, how they would prove their candidature on the expected parameters of selection. Even if a candidate is challenged about his communication skills, that candidate should put efforts to prove and should learn where exactly he is lacking.

Half-hearted preparation is enough to accept negativity in a thing so one is required to make projection of skills with one’s best level. Language proficiency has a long term scope of improvement. It has many sections like quick sentence formation, pronunciation, facial expressions, body language, presence of mind, vocabulary and many more things. In one or the other thing, the scope of amelioration is always found. Communication is a two process and it verbal as well as non-verbal. It is clearly understood that language is just the medium of communication not the entire thing. It is the part of communication skills not the communication skills itself. In order to make one’s communication excellent there are following observations that one should keep in mind. 

1. Pleasant expressions

One should deliver one’s message passionately. One should communicate happily and energetically. One should feel honored, privileged, information keeper, while sharing one’s ideas. This attitude of certitude about your own details will never let you be nervous in the conversation.

2. Avoid using unnecessary cliché. Clichés are the phrases repeatedly used in our communication for example

“If I talk about”- about

“Basically”, “Actually”, “MATLAB”, then, after that  

3. One should follow briefing carefully.

One must listen very carefully to avoid such cases for repetition of the question.

4. Should work on rapid fire questions

These questions are asked to check our cognitive skills and the retain-ability of the given instructions. The best way to work on rapid fire questions is to create your rapid fire questions from your details.

5. Abstraction: We tend to answer relevantly. The dynamism must be there in communication as it has longer scope.  

6. Behave formally in the interaction with the assessor

Since you are here in the conversation to reply the questions with your best of knowledge so that you can fulfill the criteria of selection. Take each question as an opportunity to share your relevancy of candidature.

7. Have proper details of your hobby

Hobby is something that a person does for recreation and the details of one’s hobby is pretty simple to know.

One must be confident to reply such questions of presence of mind. One can easily get to know the way to reply by involving oneself into it.
