Noun Concept and Exercise with Explanation

Noun: Noun is a naming word. All the existing things have a certain name.

For example, Bangalore, Hari Kumar, Mobile, Confusion, Sincerity, Honesty

Types of Noun

  • Proper Noun : proper means particular. Proper noun is the name of particular person, place, thing.

           Example: Neha, Aman, Samsung, Apple, Gurwakheda

  • Common Noun

       Names of common things are called common noun.

       Example: boy, girl, employee, employer, city, district, country

       Charu (P.N.) is a cherubic girl.(C.N.)

       India is the best country.

       The mobiles of Motorola are a few in market these days.  

  • Collective Noun

        Names of collection is called collective noun.

        People, children, crowd, scenery, police, crew, jury, assembly, audience, furniture, hair,

  • Material Noun

     Names of matters are called material nouns.

     For example- gold, silver, plastic, jinc, rubber, brick, stone, iron, zip sum

  • Abstract Noun

Abstract means intangible. It can only be felt. Abstract nouns can be the names of feelings, state of mind, actions, etc.

The environment of this place affected me a lot.

COVID KA MERI PADHAI PAR PRABHAV THA LEKIN COVID NE MERI SPORTS ACTIVITIES KO BILKUL BHI PRABHAVIT NHI KIYA.

Covid had effect on my studies but it did not affect my sports activities.

Plural of advice- many pieces of advice, much advice, a lot of advice

A piece of advice can show the right direction so elders should advise their fellows.

VAH MERI SALAH KO DHYAN SE SUNTA HAI AUR VAH FURTHER APNE CHHOTON KO BHI SALAH DETA HAI.

He listens to my advice carefully and further he advises to his juniors as well.

Wish and wishes

Wish – verb                                           wishes- Noun

She wished me on my birthday and I took her wishes heartedly.

Thank and thanks

Thank- verb                                          thanks- Noun

Sentence: he thanked me for providing books and I asked him to convey my thanks to his elders.

Regard and Regards

Regard- verb                                         regards- Noun

I regard my parents and they also value my regard.

Order and orders

Order – verb                                          orders- Noun

I ordered a dress and they delivered my orders after two days.

Repair and repairs

Repair- verb                                          repairs- Noun

The mechanic repaired my scooter very late because I had given him for repairs two days back.

Noun of change

Change is verb and change is noun as well. its plural will be changes.

Changement is no word in English.

I changed my schedule and everybody appreciated the changes I made in the schedule.

Noun of Visit

Visit is a verb, Noun- visit, visitor

He visits here every weekend and we welcome him warmly in his each visit.
