Question Tag Exercise with Explanation

We are familiar with the formation of questions.

  1. Begin with H.V.

Does he write at your back?

Will you tolerate oppression?

  1. Begin with “Wh” words (When, What, Where, Why, Whose, Whom, Which, How)

When does he write at your back?

What do you learn in classes?

Where do you live?

Why do you talk in disgusting manner?

 

Do you sit straight in class?                        Question

You sit straight in class or not?                 Option

You sit straight in class, NA?                      Question Tag

You don’t sit straight in class, NA?          Question Tag

Objective: We frame question tags in order to confirm the things. To know the response of a person in affirmation or in negation.

How to remove NA word of Hindi language in a sentence

If the sentence is positive, we use its negative form in its tag and vice versa. The main point is to use its tag as per the original sentence.

All of you are getting, isn’t it? (Incorrect)

All of you are getting, aren’t you? (Correct)

This is an English class, isn’t it?

This is not a comedy class, is it?

This is not your bag, is it?

This is your hand writing, isn’t it?

He is not stupid, is he?

He is churlish, isn’t he?

You are careful, aren’t you?

They were not present in the meeting, were they?

That day he wasn’t with you, was he?

Ankita wasn’t happy with him, was she?

This event will be very interesting, won’t it?

You are talking unnecessarily, aren’t you?

That day you had deposited fee, hadn’t you?

He was narrating a false story to you, wasn’t he?

This time my father will be enjoying a cup of tea at his office, will he not?

This time, Karan will be returning his home, won’t he?

Someone will have given you a missed call, won’t they?
